UKPW installs lifesaving defibrillator at Westcott HQ

UKP Worldwide (UKPW) is pleased to announce that it has recently made the investment to purchase a defibrillator, or 'defib' as it is sometimes called, for their premises at Westcott.

A defib is a portable device that gives a high-energy shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. A defib delivers controlled electric shocks safely in its attempt to get a person’s heart to beat normally following a cardiac arrest episode.

Having a defib in the workplace protects all staff, customers, visitors, and the wider business community at Westcott should someone have a cardiac arrest.

Lee Bucktrout, Chief Executive Officer, UKPW said: "We are committed to fostering a safe and supportive working environment for our team at UKPW. The decision to invest in a defibrillator underscores our dedication to the health and welfare of our staff, especially given our remote location where every minute counts in an emergency.

“This vital piece of equipment not only enhances our workplace safety but also serves as a resource for other businesses at Westcott Venture Park, reinforcing our commitment to community welfare. We believe that prioritising safety is essential to our operational excellence and the well-being of everyone in our vicinity."

Defibrillators across the UK are registered with the national defibrillator network called the Circuit. Any organisation or business that has a defibrillator onsite can join The Circuit even if its defib is not always publicly accessible like UKPW’s.

The UKPW defib is stored in its breakout area and is accessible to others at Westcott but only during business operating hours. There is another defib machine at the Gatehouse reception which is available to all onsite businesses 24/7 all year round.
